These terms govern your use of the MeraSociety mobile app, website and API (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them. If you use MeraSociety on behalf of a housing society, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it.
1. The Service
MeraSociety helps housing societies and their members manage members and flats, maintenance and other bills, payment verification, the society ledger, expenses, complaints, notices and polls, amenity bookings, visitors, documents and reports. Features may change as we improve the Service.
2. Accounts
- You must be 18 or older and give accurate information.
- Keep your password and devices secure. You are responsible for activity on your account; tell us at once if you suspect misuse.
- Your role (secretary, committee member or resident) is set by your society, and decides what you can see and do.
3. Payments
- Bills are raised by your society, not by MeraSociety. Amounts, due dates and late charges are the society's decision.
- You pay the society directly through UPI or other methods it accepts. MeraSociety does not hold, receive or transfer your money and is not a payment service.
- A payment counts as received only when your society approves it. Reading an amount from a screenshot is an aid to the society, not a confirmation.
- Amenity bookings are confirmed when the payment is verified and the society approves them. Cancellations and refunds follow your society's rules.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to: post unlawful, abusive, defamatory or misleading content; upload someone else's personal documents without permission; impersonate others; upload fake payment proof; try to access data of other societies or users; interfere with or probe the Service's security; or copy, resell or reverse-engineer the Service.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of what you upload (photos, documents, messages). You allow MeraSociety and your society to store, display and process it to provide the Service. Your society is responsible for the data it records about its members. We may remove content that breaks these terms or the law.
6. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data. It is part of these terms.
7. Availability
We work to keep the Service available and secure but cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may carry out maintenance, and we may suspend access to protect the Service or other users.
8. Disclaimers and liability
The Service is provided "as is". Reports, ledgers and reminders are tools to help your society; the society remains responsible for its accounts, audits and decisions. To the extent the law allows, MeraSociety is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for disputes between members and their society, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees (if any) paid to us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim.
9. Ending use
You can stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy). Your society can remove you when you move out. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new terms.
11. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Pune, Maharashtra have jurisdiction, subject to any rights you have under consumer protection law.
